Entrepreneurs occupy a central position in a market economy, activating and stimulating economic activity. The economic success of any nation is the result of encouraging and rewarding the entrepreneurial instinct.

A society is prosperous only to the degree to which it rewards and encourages entrepreneurial activity because it is the entrepreneurs and their activities that are the critical determinant of the level of success, prosperity, growth and opportunity in any economy.

The most dynamic societies in the world are the ones that have the most entrepreneurs, plus the economic and legal structure to encourage and motivate entrepreneurs to greater activities.

Nigeria Entrepreneurs Award is an exclusive award that seeks to reward excellence among the most committed and dedicated businesses operating in Nigeria. It focuses on recognizing outstanding corporate organizations and individuals who have positively impacted the economy of our country Nigeria.

Research has shown that developed economies are driven mainly by the private sector and specifically small and growing businesses. Small/Medium businesses collectively provide more jobs than the public sector as well as multinational organizations put together. It is therefore necessary to celebrate these captains of industries and organizations who are blazing the trail in innovation and job creation.

The idea behind the Nigeria Entrepreneurs Award is to imbibe a culture of excellence in young and emerging business leaders and showcase thriving businesses in the Nigeria.

The maiden edition of the Nigeria Entrepreneurs Award was held at the Oriental Hotel Lagos on the 5th of December 2014. With outstanding entrepreneurs and corporate organizations who have contributed positively to the growth of the Nigeria economy in 2014 where awarded.

The 2nd edition of the Nigeria Entrepreneurs Award was a huge success, with well over 500 top Entrepreneurs from various sectors of the economy gathered at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel Abuja, to celebrate the outstanding contributions of Nigeria entrepreneurs to the growth of our nation’s economy as well as deliberate on ways to harness opportunities for market expansion and entrepreneurial development.

Top amongst the guest was; Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who was well represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Mr. Akodu Olalekan.

In other to spice up the award and to encourage public participation, Emagez Solutions- organizers of the Nigeria Entrepreneurs Award also introduced the Summit and Exhibitions sessions. These sessions were introduced in other to create a platform for CEOs, aspiring entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs with interest in expanding their business to initiate new business ideas and relationships – with key influencers and decision makers in different sectors of the economy.
